Probation for Murder

The Dallas Morning News has done some excellent work over the past few days in highlighting cases where convicted murderers walked (or in one case) rolled free with probation.

The first story is here.

The second story can be found here.

It's a great job of reporting, but I can't find on the website who the reporter is. Whoever it is... kudos.

hi my name it whitney jenkins and im a criminal justice major at gibbs college, and this sentencing for murder is not justice at all. i was wondering if the judges where on something when they gave murderers probation.?? it just doesnt make any sense to me especially hearing that the sentencing was done in TEXAS.. i thought texas was the one state that actually was the most harsh on crimes guess i was wrong! well if there is anymore information that any one could pass over to me would be great because we are discussing this issue in class.

Probation can be a very good option for the convicts who can be reformed.
